These are the most fundamental of the S.I.G rules and are intended to be a swift introduction to S.I.G gaming.
1 All the rules in the "Community" category also apply in SIG/VIP.
2 A host must write in the game comments that he is the host as soon as he has hosted the game. If the game is auto-hosted and not up within 3 minutes or there is no host comment after the game has been active for 3 minutes the players may close the game.
3 Players who have selected that they are able to host in their profile will be the only ones considered as valid hosts. Auto-hosted games are considered to have a valid host.
4 Once you join a SIG and its status is 'active', each player has 5 minutes to join the hosted game. After 5 minutes of the game being in an 'active' state have passed, the game should be closed and players missing from the hosted game marked as "Leaver/Didn`t show up". Please also refer to rule 2 and note the minimum 2 minute joining time.
5 If a player leaves/disconnects and the mode has already been entered, you should finish the game and mark them as a "Leaver/Didn't show up" when you enter the results. If the mode has not been entered then the game should be closed immediately and the leaver marked as "Leaver/Didn't show up".
The gamemode is considered entered once the game itself confirms the mode.
6 If 3 or more players have massive lags, delay or spikes (at any point in the game), the game must be paused, saved and rehosted, if there is another host available. All the players cannot be from the same team - 1 must lag from Sentinel and Scourge.
7 Any player who is AFK for over 3 minutes during a game must be marked as Leaver/didn't show up".
8 Every player has to enter the correct result after the game.
Complete S.I.G Rules
All times mentioned in these rules refer to the ingame time, not the replay time. The ingame time starts when the first creeps spawn and is displayed in the top right corner of the screen.
1. S.I.G General Rules:
1.0a All the rules in the "Community" category also apply in SIG/VIP.
1.0b Breaking the same rule more than once will result in harsher penalties.
1.1 You must have the right Battle.Net account entered in your profile before signing up for a SIG/VIP. The Battle.Net account you use must be the one you joined the game with (i.e. your Battle.Net account does not change until you application has been accepted by an admin).
1.2 The current map version for SIG/VIP is 6.72b. You can download the map from www.getdota.com. Please only download the map from there; other sources may be corrupt/fake.
1.3a The host must write in the game comments that he is the host as soon as he has hosted the game. This rule does not apply for bot hosts in auto-hosted games.
1.3b Players who have selected that they are able to host in their profile will be the only ones considered as valid hosts. You are not, however, forced to host. (See exception 1.3c) Auto-hosted games are considered to have a valid host.
1.3c You are not allowed to abuse the hosting options. This means hosting without having selected the ability in your profile prior to the match or refusing to host for a reason other than inability to do so. Refusing to host in order to manipulate teams is forbidden.
1.3d A game is considered auto-hosted, when there is an auto-hosting status in the game details.
1.4a If a game is not hosted by a manual host within 3 minutes after being "Active", you may close it. A game is considered hosted when there is a host comment.
1.4b If you are in an auto-hosted game, you are allowed to close the game as soon as the following message is displayed: "The game has been unhosted, the time limit was hit."
1.4c If there is no host in the game you may close the game straight away instead of waiting 3 minutes. You have no host, when you are not in an auto-hosted game and there is no player with a host icon.
1.5a The host of each game is responsible for ensuring the players are in the correct teams before he starts the game. We suggest you use DotAzilla to check the teams quickly and easily.
1.5b If a player is in the wrong team and is AFK or refuses to move the host can use the bnet /time command and screenshots to prove he will not move or was AFK for a period of more than 3 minutes. The player can then be reported and will receive PP's.
1.6 Failure to join a SIG/VIP game you have joined and is active will result in you getting -10. Once the game has gone active all players have 5 minutes to join, after which time if they are not present they will receive -10. No excuses are accepted - including a problem connecting to the host. If a remake or reload was necessary, players have 5 minutes from the remake-host-comment to join the game before they are marked as a leaver/didn't show up.
1.7 Hosting games with wrong game settings is forbidden. If the host hasn't chosen the default settings, the game must be remade immediately. The original host of the game has priority hosting the remake and other hosts must wait at least 1 minute before creating the remake game themselves.
2. SIG/VIP ingame rules:
2.0 If the game is started in the wrong mode, the game must be remade with someone else in the first Sentinel slot. The original host of the game has priority hosting the remake and other hosts must wait at least 1 minute before creating the remake game themselves.
2.1 If during the game players are seen to be playing in the wrong teams or you notice that there is a player in the game that is not in the SIG/VIP, the game must be closed immediately and a replay uploaded. The game should then be reported so the host can be disciplined for his negligence.
2.2 If a player leaves/disconnects and the mode has already been entered, you should finish the game and mark them as a "Leaver/Didn't show up" when you enter the results. If the mode has not been entered then the game should be closed immediately and the leaver marked as "Leaver/Didn't show up".
The gamemode is considered entered once the game itself confirms the mode.
2.3a If 3 or more players have massive lags, delay or spikes (at any point in the game), the game must be paused, saved and rehosted, if there is another host available. All the players cannot be from the same team - 1 must lag from Sentinel and Scourge. To be counted as a lagger, you have to write in all-chat that you have lags/delay/spikes. The host of the new game CANNOT be one of the players who lagged (except in the case of rule 2.3b). A game can be rehosted at any point during the game.
2.3b If 5 or more people lag before 10 minutes (at least one from each team) and there isn't another host, the game can be closed. If there is another host, anyone may host - regardless of whether or not they had lag.
2.4 It is forbidden to save a game unless it is necessary for a rehost.
2.5 If someone disconnects/ leaves, you may use his hero as you see fit however you may not purchase any items/consumables/recipes for that hero. You may teamsell any of that heroes items as you see fit. You may NOT take leaver items as your own to use or sell.
2.6 If you leave/disconnect from a game before it is over you must close the game and mark yourself as "Leaver/didn't show up".
2.7a The game is over when:
1) The Tree or the Throne has been destroyed
2) If all players from a team forfeited.
To forfeit you have to type ff or -ff, in ALL CHAT. No team forfeit can be accepted before 20 minutes game time except in the circumstances described in rules 2.7b and 2.7c. If you forfeit before 20 minute it will count but your team won't be allowed to forfeit prior this time. After you have forfeited, you will not able to unforfeit (to cancel your forfeit).
2.7b Your team forfeiture is valid at any time in the game if you had one or more leavers on your team.
2.7c People who are clearly afk as described in rule 2.8 are considered as having forfeited. They are also counted as a leaver so you may forfeit at any time.
2.7d Misleading other people in the game by not admitting you have/haven’t ff’ed is not allowed and will be punished. If asked whether or not you have/haven't ff'ed you MUST respond and respond honestly.
2.8 Any player who is AFK for over 3 minutes during a game must be marked as Leaver/didn't show up". If you believe a player was AFK for over 3 minutes in total (e.g. 1 min then later 2 mins), then upload the replay and open a support.
2.9 Every player has a right to one 30 second pause during the game. Players may give their pause to another player but a single pause may not last for more than one minute (Pause used by two players), after which the game may be resumed. After a 1 minute pause at least 5 minutes must pass before another pause may be used by any player. You must announce in all chat that you are going to pause 3 seconds before you do. Also announce 3 seconds before you unpause.
2.10a Purposeful game ruining is forbidden - this means PURPOSEFUL feeding, suiciding, item stealing from your own team, etc. You may pick up items dropped by an enemy courier or enemy heroes. Bad playing is NOT against the rules unless it is on purpose. Do NOT send supports about bad players in normal SIG games, you may only report bad players from VIP games.
2.10b Attempting to complete secret missions is strictly forbidden and will be counted as game ruin.
2.11a In -cm, -cd or -xl mode, the player with the highest points of each team will be team-captain and gets the first team slot (blue or pink). The captain can be switched if the current captain agrees. You are not allowed to type -cm 1 or -cm 2 in order to manipulate the pick/ban order.
2.11b If one of the captains in –cm or –cd mode leaves/disconnects during the picking phase, the game is to be closed and the leaver/disconnecter marked with “Leaver/didn’t show up”.
2.12 In -ardm player blue has to enter -lives 30 after the mode has been selected.
3. SIG/VIP After game rules:
3.0 Every player has to enter the correct result after the game.
3.1 If you notice that the game results are wrong, or a leaver/AFKer isn't marked as -10, send a support. Don't forget to upload proof in the form of a replay. Please do not use screenshots to prove this, as they may not be accepted.
3.2 If all players dropped with a fatal error the game must always be closed, no matter how close to the end.
3.3 If the server splits and you can recognise that it has split, the game must always be closed, no matter how close to the end. Server split means that the game is split into 2 games. If unsure, send a support. If you want to claim the game was split and you did not simply disconnect, you MUST upload a replay of the game for your claim to be considered.
3.4 If the host disconnects and takes some players with him (and there are not 2 games, i,e - no server split for which rule 3.3 applies) , the game should be closed and the host ONLY should receive -10.
4. SIG/VIP Bugs and restrictions:
4.0 Bug using/abusing is forbidden.
4.1a You are not allowed to block creeps with the use of spells, such as Fissure, Sprout, Summons or any other spells which hinder your own creeps from getting to their destination. However, you may use fissure to completely block a lane outside the base if it's done with the intention of killing a hero or saving an allied one.
4.1b Completely closing the entrance to either base using Earthshaker’s Fissure skill is never allowed, regardless of what you are trying to do.
4.2 Item limits: maximum of two necronomicons per team.
4.3 Transferring gold to your allies in ANY way is forbidden.
4.4 Share abuse in ANY way is forbidden.
4.5 Rooftrellen is banned from VIP/SIG Games. You are NOT allowed to pick Rooftrellen, if you do so, the game will be closed and you will receive -10 (marked as leaver). If you are randomly assigned with Rooftrellen the game must be remade with the original mode. You are not allowed to pick Rooftrellen in SD or RD games either, you will receive a penalty (close and -10) if you do so.
Exception: Does not apply in -ardm
